Safety Equipment, Boats, Ground Tackle & Deck Fittings

1. Fire Control Panel – Tyco Precept Marine, Lloyds approved, 8 zone system with smoke detectors in all compartments and heat detectors in machinery spaces; multiple alarm buttons operated from ship mains or internal 24v battery. Automatic  alarm bells,  and shut down relays for ventilators/blowers.

2. Fire Fighting Equipment

  • Fire Extinguishers – foam, carbon dioxide and dry powder

  • Vetus gas detector with automatic shut down.

  • Fire Hoses –  greater than length of boat, reel mounted, with Storz ‘C’ connectors and jet/spray nozzles

  • Fire Hydrants on fore, aft and boat  decks and in Engine Room, operated from ER electric fire pumps, or hand pump on aft deck.

  • Portable frame mounted  Yanmar diesel  50mm pump with 5m suction hose output which can be connected to fire hydrant line or directly to fire hose; this can also be used as an emergency bilge pump

  • 2 Sand buckets, Fire axes and fire blankets where needed 


3. Lifesaving Equipment

  • Lifebuoys - 16 units Perry buoy 30” ring, 2 x man-over-board auto lamps and smoke units

  • Aft Liferafts – 2 x 16 persons with hydrostatic releases (SOLAS)

  • Forward liferafts - 2 x Plastimar 8 person “D” pack liferafts

  • 30 units - personal life jackets (half with strobe lights)

  • 2 units “406” ACR EPRIBs with built-in GPS (1 automatic with hydrostatic release, 1 manual), registered with HK Marine Department and NOAA

  • Jotron and Simrad  Search and Rescue Transponders 


4. Companion ways, port & starboard, stainless frame with teak steps and landing stage, with 24v Warn winch electric  hoists, which also used for heavy fenders or small boats. Aft Swimming platform with 2 fixed and hinged ladders 


5. Ground tackle

  • 2 x Simpson–Lawrence stockless Hall pattern anchors, 250kg/550 lb, Lloyd’s tested

  • Anchor Chains – port 110m (= 4 shackles of 15 fathoms),   and starboard 82m (= 3 shackles) of Simpson–Lawrence, ¾” stud link, Lloyd’s tested

  • Anchor Windlass - Simpson–Lawrence Model 515, 2 ton pull, rated speed 10m (35’) per minute 2 x ¾” chain gypsy with dog clutch, and band brakes, and warping drums driven by with 5.5 kW, AC 400v 3-phase motor,

  • Danforth 90H Hi-Tensile kedge anchor (height 54“ x stock 41”, 29¼ flukes) with 6m stainless chain and 100m tow warp for light weather use 


6. Boats and tenders (as required)

  • Castoldi Jet Pro 18 RIB with 125hp Yanmar diesel 4JH3-DTE driving Castoldi Jet, or

  • Ribtec 5.25m RIB with 125 bhp Yanmar inboard diesel model 4JH3-DTE driving Hamilton Jet

  • Ribcraft 5.85m, orange hypalon, with console control, built in fuel tank  and 90hp Suzuki outboard, or

  • Humber Assault 4m, orange hypalon, with console and Mariner 50hp outboard engine


7. Boat Deck Cranes – 2 units​
”MKG” Maschinen und Kranbau GmbH, model HMC-60K marine telescopic hydraulic cranes  (fitted 1990),  on boat deck, port & starboard; Lloyds approved, SWL 1.02 tons at 5m outreach, 1.9 tons at 2.3m, fitted with 1.5 ton Rotzler hydraulic winch, with 50m of 10mm stainless steel wire and locking hook for vertical lifts, powered by 1 unit of hydraulic power pack with internal Volvo pump driven by 15 kW AC 400v 3 phase motor


8. Heavy duty bollards, cleats, hawse pipes and deck fittings were custom made using 316 stainless steel by Supercraft (HK) Ltd
